A hybrid intensive, informative and relevant higher education experience.

The Executive Post-Graduate Program in Sports Management is a hybrid intensive, informative and relevant higher education course specializing in the business of sports. The program will bring together a blend of self-paced online sessions, live online classes, domestic and international immersions, student mixers/networking events and a graduation ceremony.

The program is co-certified by the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and will also welcome global sports industry stalwarts as speakers along with networking opportunities with GISB affiliates.

The program aims to develop students into competent sports management professionals equipped to grow and excel in their chosen sports management careers through a hybrid format.

Access to premiere master’s level core sport management courses.

The Global Institute of Sports Business has entered into an Educational Partnership with The University of Massachusetts Amherst’s – Mark H. McCormack Department of Sport Management to ensure students have access to premiere master’s level core sport management courses, best practice curriculum and experienced international faculty.

The #1 globally ranked Mark H. McCormack Department of Sport Management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst is one of the few Sport Management programs housed within a business school: The Isenberg School of Management. U.S. News & World Report ranks Isenberg as a Top 20 undergraduate business school, while its online MBA is ranked #3 in the world by Financial Times (2018).

The Mark H. McCormack Department of Sport Management is one of the oldest such programs in the world, and the program’s network holds more than 5,000 sport industry alumni, featuring leaders and innovators within every segment of the commercial sports industry. The Department has one of the top undergraduate programs in America, and its graduate program – consisting of Masters (MS) level as well as dual-degree (MBA/MS) concentrations – is currently ranked No. 1 in the world by industry standard Sport Business.

The GISB Executive Post-Graduate Program in Sports Management has been designed to minimise disruption to work and personal pursuits.

The program lasts for a total of 12 months and is delivered in a range of methods, including live online classes, self-paced online courses, immersions in sporting cities, networking events, one-on-one mentoring sessions, and graduation ceremonies. Every few months, participants will offline get-together with their respective cohorts.

With this format, participants can continue working or taking care of other obligations while still completing a course that is just as rigorous and thorough.

Participants will receive the Executive Post-Graduate Program in Sports Management certificate.

On successful completion of the program, participants will receive the Executive Post-Graduate Program in Sports Management certificate which will be co-signed by the Global Institute of Sports Business and the University of Massachusetts.

GISB believes in the philosophy of helping everyone transform their passion for sports into their profession. Keeping that in mind, there is no particular degree that a student must possess.

Strong candidates that are passionate about sports as a career and have exhibited the maturity to acknowledge sports as both a social institution and a business are eligible. Students are not required to complete any exams (i.e. CAT) prior to joining the program.

The basic criteria that needs to be fulfilled is:

  • Bachelor’s Degree: The applicant should have a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification in any discipline. An equivalent qualification will be determined by the admissions committee of the programme and will include the likes of CA, ICWA, etc.

*Exceptions can be made for individuals with relevant sports experience.

Interested candidates will be requested to fill out an application form and provide relevant information about their background and experience. Following which, the admissions committee will review the applications and send an offer letter to suitable candidates. The programme office accepts only online applications and no printed applications are available.

The selection of participants will be made considering a combination of many factors including:

  • Communication skills
  • Likelihood of benefiting from the program
  • Undergraduate degree performance
  • Basic understanding of the sports industry
